editFollowing are a few sources I've found about butanilicaine.
Because of the lack of information online, I assume Sanofi-Aventis (now Sanofi) has stopped making it. The drug was marketed as Hostacain, under two forms: butanilicaine hydrochloride or butanilicaine phosphate (if someone could check this out, I would appreciate).
The drug has been used on humans, horses, and frogs. Butanilicaine phosphate was administered by injection, as a 0.5 to 3% solution. It was used in the making of stable solutions of hydrogenated ergotalkaloids (US patent US 4402949).
