Wikipedia is of course not the place for original research but it would be interesting if any editor unearthed references to the name 'Bwlch y Ddwyallt' referring originally to the feature which links this hill to Waun Rydd to its northeast and along which a path runs which might more appropriately be referred to as 'Bwch y Ddwyallt' i.e. 'pass of the two wooded slopes/hillsides'. First edition OS mapping hints at that. Y Fan Las might have been an earlier/lost name for the hill, preserved in the name of the cliff bounding its eastern edge 'Craig y Fan Las' or 'cliff of the green peak/place'. cheers Geopersona (talk) 16:29, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
