Talk:Byron (disambiguation)

(Order)

edit

Ok. So hang on
It looks alphabetical, then why is Byron California first and Byron bay last? Evan if they are put into countries “Australia” still comes before “United” as dose “New” or is this another “septic tanks” before the rest of the world thing?

Reversions

_ On a Dab page for a "base title" that has a primary topic, the form of the lead is prescribed, and in it, "is" has a pretty specific meaning that is twofold. In this case it means that

WP has made a finding that "Bryron", without context to the contrary, means Lord Byron, and
pending any showing to the contrary, following a WP link to Byron takes the user to the article on Lord Byron.

If you have a problem with

Byron (1788–1824) is British writer Lord Byron, a.k.a. George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron.

the place to address that is at Wikipedia talk:Disambiguation pages or a proposal at Talk:George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron to supplant his bio as the target of the Rdr Byron.
_ On a Dab page, most of the entries are about people. The heading People on a Dab page means that the each entry following it and down to the next heading links to a bio article (or our best substitute for that) for one real person. A band is not a person, so a People heading for the one historical person other than Lord Byron who could be a contender for coverage at Byron would have to be followed by another heading (say for "the bands" (i.e. the one band), and would serve no purpose.
