Taken straight from Entrez Gene ([1])... But typos at NCBI aren't unheard of -- if you're sure it should be ELC, then make the change (preferably while adding some explanatory text and ideally a reference or two...) Cheers, AndrewGNF (talk) 21:39, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
HUGO [2] give "ELC" (EBI1 ligand chemokine) as alias for CCL19. Even if ECL is used sometimes [3], ELC is far more common. --Banus (talk) 23:55, 11 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

CCR7 is involved into homing cells to the lymph nodes and not to leave them. for example central memory cells that express CCR7 can be attracted to the Lymph nodes, but effector memory cells lack CCR7 and than can stay in the tissues! 

see Janeway's Immnulogy seventh edition, Kenneth Murphy and Paul Travers page 449 section 10-17 another example are the lymphoid tissue inducer cells (LTi), that express CCR7, which promote their homing to sites of future lymphoid organ developpment. see: Ectopic lymphoid tissues and local immunity Damian M. It is stated that:

"Activation of Dendritic cells in peripheral tissues induces CCR7 expression on the cell's surface, which recognize CCL19 and CCL21 produced in the Lymph node and increases dendritic cell expression of co-stimulation molecules (B7), and MHC class I or MHC class II.[8]"

Going to references and reading the article, reference [8] has no mention of B7 or MHC protein complexes, aside from designating mature dendritic cells as HLA-DR high cells. Instead, it mentions that ligation of CCR7 is for chemotactic purposes. I could not find a publication on pubmed making such claims. Can someone provide a proper source for that statement, or change the page to accurately report the results of the article?
