"...and captures the spirit of a sweeter, simpler 1950's style of candy."

Yet the candy is from the gritty, urbane 1930s. I suspect that it was the writer himself who was sweeter and simpler in the 1950s. The rest of the world was not. It was its same old self, the candy included. It would be simpler not to claim that candies have spirits, or that ages have spirits and candies capture them. It would also be easier to write something that sounded encyclopedic rather than ad copy or memories of childhood.

I've removed the bit about the musician Violet Candy from the 'In popular culture' section. 13 monthly listeners on Spotify, 22 SoundCloud subscribers, no presence in the media whatsoever (as of right now) - hardly worthy of inclusion.
