CBS Dream Team to rebrand to CBS WKND
editSource: CBS rebrands E/I programming block - NewscastStudio
So starting on October 7, 2023, CBS Dream Team will rebrand (not necessarily close down per say) to CBS WKND. I can't edit the page since I've only made 6 contributions to Wikipedia, but if anyone could add this info, it would be appreciated. Sorry if this news disappoints you for those looking forward to the return of Nick on CBS. BrownieTheAlien (talk) 19:04, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved to CBS Weekend. Per consensus. (closed by non-admin page mover) – robertsky (talk) 04:34, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
CBS Dream Team → CBS WKND – New title for this TV program block came into effect on October 7. Subsequent edits to the existing redirect have blocked my ability to move to the new title. — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 14:47, 9 October 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 22:59, 10 October 2023 (UTC)— Relisting. - @MrSchimpf: FYI — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 23:07, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
Move to CBS Weekend (programming block)for a clear-language title; any web search fills in the vowels and assumes a search for CBS Weekend News is meant, so it's best to disambiguate this from both their weekend newscast, and the devoweled spelling is easily noted in the lede (CBS WKND can remain as a redirect and it can be piped for any article needing a link towards here). Nate • (chatter) 00:52, 12 October 2023 (UTC)- I agree with this, since with the vowels it would make since and be more understandable (probably even CBS Weekend (children’s programming block) would be more sense) Hoopstercat (talk) 12:55, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- Move to CBS Weekend because I assess the suggested proposed titles CBS Weekend (programming block) or CBS Weekend (block) (my kind of DABbed title) as unnecessarily helpful for DAB reasons, as the proposed suggested title for this RM could redirect to it for stylization purposes and piped per MrSchimpf's. Then the target for CBS Weekend News could be inserted into a hatnote here at the top. Intrisit (talk) 14:50, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support I agree a hatnote takes care of the title confusion. Nate • (chatter) 22:59, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

Move to CBS WKND
editShould I move this article? Teamsonic2011 (talk) 22:55, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- To editor Teamsonic2011: please read the banner at the top of the article: "Please do not move this article until the discussion is closed." The "discussion" above is still open. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 17:40, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
Wrong/Incorrect Title.
editThe title of this page is CBS Weekend, but its official branding is CBS WKND, so it should be called by its official branding rather than this unofficial non-abbreviated title. 2603:6081:893D:13AC:9D01:87AC:1AC6:8B87 (talk) 18:58, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved. In the face of no opposition, I see a consensus to move per MOS:TM and WP:CONCISE. (closed by non-admin page mover) Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 03:55, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
CBS Weekend → CBS WKND – This is the official branding for the block, this shouldn't violate any Wikipedia guidelines to use it on the title, using "CBS Weekend" for the title is disruptive to me in my opinion, and could cause confusion for other articles with similar titles in it, including CBS Weekend News, although some users in the previous move discussion said that "CBS Weekend" reads better to them, it's an unofficial branding and is disruptive to me to use it instead of "CBS WKND." 2603:6081:893D:13AC:7100:943E:5C15:68C0 (talk) 03:40, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Support per MOS:TM since sources don't de-stylize it. SilverLocust 💬 05:10, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
Tentative OpposeNeutral - We don't automatically favour official names. MOS:TM is the manual of style, and anyway also doesn't say anything that would favour WKND over Weekend. Looking at Google Ngrams, CBS Weekend looks much more prominent than CBS WKND which isn't even common enough to rate. Comparing search terms, CBS WKND barely rates. Of course, this is a hard thing to measure and I wouldn't take these stats as the be-all-and-end-all (possibly they are referring to something else as "CBS Weekend" and not the subject of this article), but I'd like to see some evidence that people outside of CBS call this WKND and not Weekend. I've also got to say that anyway, since people will say this "Weekend", then CBS Weekend should continue to redirect to this page. FOARP (talk) 13:43, 14 October 2024 (UTC)- @FOARP: Here's a better Google Ngrams link. The "CBS Weekend" results are almost entirely "CBS Weekend News". Google Ngrams does not contain any data after 2022. This kids-targeted programming slot was known as CBS Dream Team before October 2023. See #Requested move 10 October 2023, relying on this source (NewscastStudio) (which doesn't use "CBS Weekend" but only mentions that the WKND in CBS WKND refers to the weekend).
- If you are opposed to citing MOS:TM in requested moves, see instead WP:TITLETM. There aren't a lot of sources, but they don't ever use "CBS Weekend". E.g., Yahoo Entertainment, NextTV. SilverLocust 💬 19:15, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- WP:TITLETM states that we should only use a name like WKND where the proposed title is the common name. The evidence for this seems to be slim but at least the two links above are something. I'm happy to dismiss the NGrams data, though the search data is more up-to-date and also shows WKND barely featuring versus CBS Weekend. I guess this move might be safer on WP:PRECISE/WP:CONCISE grounds. Neutral for now. FOARP (talk) 07:31, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
