I don't understand this article.

edit

Hi, editors,

I don't understand this article. It is too technical for me since I have no background in medicine or biochemistry. I'm looking up CD4 because I have a drawing that shows the normal relationship of sickness to your body is like a rainstorm on a house, that CD4 is like the wooden supports of the house, and that HIV is like termites attacking the wood. Could someone simplify this article to help the general public understand the role and importance of CD4 (and maybe why it's like the wooden supports of a house)? In the meantime, I'll see if it's any simpler in other languages. DBlomgren (talk) 14:38, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I concur, DBlomgren. I swear that this article is not written in English. The Function section is an excellent example. Authors, please follow Wikipedia guidelines to use simplicity... "Wikipedia is not a manual, guidebook, textbook, or scientific journal". Start a topic with an easily understood explanation, then, in the following paragraphs, move into the more complex concepts.
