Compiler
editI wrote the version of CESIL that Paul used and will contribute to these pages in due course after learning a bit more about protocol and formatting. Tony --Yapton (talk) 11:22, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
I have not found a compiler.
If someone has one, please let us know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Splang (talk • contribs)

editWhat does "It is rather difficult to define it as high or low level" mean? --Fang Aili 19:07, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- The accumulator based nature and limited instructions really place it as low level, though the print insructions for numbers and text are clearly not low level. Functionally, it is on a level with assembler (actually weaker than most assemblers), with a couple of subroutines and macros to do the printing. Ace of Risk 21:38, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Case of the name
editCesil or CESIL ?
Books
editWhat was the name of the standard book we all used for it?
- I can't help with the standard book, but the Reference Card is currently online at http://iclces.uk/articles/icl_cesil_basic_reference_card.html if that helps. WyrmUK 13:33, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
UK HIgh School Teaching
editI was taught Cesil in the UK in the 1970s as part of a new O-level curriculum on computer science for teenagers. It's not that obscure of a language as tens of thousands of kids were taught programming via this language. Rhodydog (talk) 20:20, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
