ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country code

edit

Re edits by user:Winhunter and user:SchmuckyTheCat [1] - Why is CHN not an ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 code? — Instantnood 17:35, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

what. SchmuckyTheCat 17:48, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
You and he/she removed that line. — Instantnood 17:49, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Nothing about the ISO designation appears in any of the edits in the current history, either added or removed. I have added it. SchmuckyTheCat 18:00, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Why you and user:Winhunter removed it [2] [3]? Re [4] - Both the ISO and IOC codes refer to "China", not "People's Republic of China". — Instantnood 18:13, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Satisfied now? I reverted your edits because you mixed your edits with confusing info about PRC. Hunter 18:19, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
What exactly is confusing? — Instantnood 18:32, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
The confusing info are: "..for "China", used by the team representing the mainland of the People's Republic of China (PRC), the team representing the PRC before 1997"
Please note that Hong Kong and Macau atheletes are entitled to join the PRC team since they are indeed Chinese citizens, though up to now there are no one qualified (in terms of competiveness) to do so and thus only joined the local teams. Therefore anyone within PRC can join the PRC team, such status is unchanged before and after handover of Hong Kong and Macau. --Hunter 18:53, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
And that applies to Taiwan athletes too. SchmuckyTheCat 18:56, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Any evidence? As far as I know Hong Kong and Macao athletes never join the "China" teams since 1984, when the designation "China" was assumed by the PRC. There wasn't any known channel they could join. They, nevertheless, did play for the ROC, notably the men football team. — Instantnood 18:59, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Those diffs do not show any removal of ISO information. SchmuckyTheCat 18:20, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
How can you deny it in this way? Please kindly check the diff links again. — Instantnood 18:32, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Re " I have gone over the history of this article several times and I do not see any reference to ISO codes, only IOC codes. Then I added the ISO link. " [5] - Please check the line immediately above the {{TLAdisambig}} template [6] [7]. — Instantnood 18:46, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
What he means is [8], he first reverted your edits then re-added the ISO info (in consecutive edits). Therefore, no ISO info was removed in the process. --Hunter 18:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
He claimed nothing regarding the ISO code ever appeared, until he added it [9] [10]. — Instantnood 18:50, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I didn't even see that bottom line. SchmuckyTheCat 18:56, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Now you are trying to accuse him something new about things that took place in talk pages. If you are trying to reply to "Those diffs do not show any removal of ISO information.
