Self-referencing category
editI honestly don't understand the need to add the article to a self-referencing category (CJOH). If someone could kindly explain it to me instead of making cryptic comments like "Understanding is a three-edged sword", it would be much appreciated. I really do assume good faith; I just don't understand why this is needed. How about an explanation instead of a revert war, hmm? Would it not make more sense to make a category of "Television shows produced by CJOH-TV" (as that seems to be the point)? - File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (T • C • W) 00:11, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Lots of articles have their own categories, look at Category:Bravo! Canada for example. While the category could be "Television shows produced by CJOH-TV" it wouldn't be able to include anything else then. It's a more broad category this way. Ardenn 00:25, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's the explanation I was looking for. We could have discussed this here to begin with instead of reverting each other. - File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (T • C • W) 00:44, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Montréal Feed
editHey,
Montreal doesn't pick up CJOH on regular cable anymore. You can only get it on Illico Digital Cable. No analog feed in Montreeal. Although you can get it on sattelite too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.57.32.16 (talk) 13:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
What about analogue via an ordinary antenna and rotor? Montréal is only an hour or so downriver from Cornwall. --66.102.80.212 (talk) 22:32, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
You can get CJOH Cornwall channel 8 with just rabbit ears in the west end of Montreal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.87.253.10 (talk) 20:58, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:CTV logo.svg
editThe image Image:CTV logo.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
editHello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in articles. Including this type of material in articles does not abide by current consensus and its inclusion is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:Source list tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). If a preexisting article is already in the encyclopedia for the person you want to add to a list, it's generally regarded as sufficient to support their inclusion in list material in another article. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 05:15, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
What happened to the digital signal in Montreal?
editI was getting the digital signal on 62.1 for about 1 year and now I get no signal no matter how I position the antenna. Vmelkon (talk) 13:46, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
