"This article relies excessively on references to primary sources."

The primary reason for those references is deriving product specifications directly from the manufacturer's website, as getting such specifications from secondary sources is not always possible (due to limited coverage of older models, nonexistent press releases, inconsistently stated specs on third-party aggregators, etc), and the content is not promotional simply because it cites the manufacturer.

The most reliable way to get product specifications is from the source itself, with third parties disputing any claims that may not be accurate (such as battery life estimates.) I could not find any sources disputing those numbers.

I agree further secondary sources could be added, but all of them are still sourcing from the same specs on the manufacturer's website.

I won't remove this tag for now as I do plan to add more secondary sources later, but I don't believe it should be re-added if removed. MovedRemote (talk) 00:04, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

Appreciate your enthusiasm for improving the article. Note that if secondary sources are unavailable, it may mean the subject is not notable enough for inclusion into the article. Also note that if people are looking for specifications of a product, they can always go directly to the product page (Wikipedia is not a catalog). Got it, thanks for the clarification.

Secondary sources are often unavailable for actual citation just because most of them don't mention explicit specs, and just more vague language like "better battery life than x model" or "better sound", even if coverage still exists and is widespread. CMF is a large, now quite well known brand, especially in the audio space, it's just that coverage targets primarily people who just want to know which is "better" rather than those interested in specific technical specs.

I'll try not to make the page look like a catalog, I'm primarily just trying to show the biggest changes/additions between versions, but given how scattered the specs can be sometimes it's hard to arrange well, which is what I'll definitely be working on going forward. CMF removes old product pages' specs once they go off sale, leaving just a blank page with the product photo and name on it, which is why I don't just want to list the bare minimum, though I understand citing pages that are also archived is probably best suited for this purpose.
