Table on all 4 nations

Hia all. I'm usually on the Welsh language Wikipedia, but had the shock of my life the other day when I saw that nearly all the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom was about England. It's done so, so often on the enwiki and is so biased and political imho. However, this time is different, as Health is devolved to each of the 4 nations. COVID-19 pandemic in England they leave out in the cold, to rot! So that England = the UK! Take a look at the discussion here. To try and counter this I've created a table of all 4 countries. If you like it, please add to this article; if not, then please bin it! I will be updating the stats every other day. I could also add a second table of other countries of similar population to Scotland, should you wish!

To dream-up your own measure of rate, when the UK government have made it clear that it may take months if not years for statisticians to be able to compare death rates between different jurisdictions fails WP:OR, at best. So I oppose the addition of this table without, at least, dropping your rate column. -- DeFacto (talk). 17:06, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

The ongoing measure of rate (number of deaths divided by population) is used consistently worldwide as well as by WHO, who's advise should be followed, not the that of Westminster. The death rate of each country in the table comes from one source: GOV.UK, so there's no conflict there. The 4 countries exist as a group, therefore there is nothing 'original' in the selection; it's the full list of counties in the UK; so the WP:OR remains intact. Rather odd you follow me here to leave your remarks, as I originally left this table on the Talk page of Talk:COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom, where I asked for suggestions. But thanks for your views! By the way I note that you are attempting to change the fact that Scotland is a country to Scotland is 'referred' to as a country. Streamlining Page Suggestions

I was wondering if there are better headings for collecting information, as there are headings for Police, court and prison systems, Education, Economy, and Social Security all put into a Lockdown Heading?

COVID-19 pandemic in the UK article is VERY biased UK=England

I've been trying to show the editors of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom article how biased UK=England it is. COVID-19 is a health issue, which comes under the devolved governments and NOT under Boris Johnson. The article, in my view, contains disproportional coverage of England, is unbalanced and is an insult to the three smaller nations. Restoration of removed graphs

I'm not an experienced editor and don't want to try to restore the recently deleted graphs as it could cause further issues on a page I'm sure many people value. Edits in the past 24 hours by Greenock 125 add a lot of new information, but they have taken away the graphs section that provided clear daily totals of hospital deaths and new cases. Could these be restored as they were very useful. Removal of statistics

An IP has moved all of the statistics data to Statistics of the COVID-19 pandemic in Scotland (previously a redirect). I have restored the content to this article, but I realise it is now duplicated. I am not a regular editor here and just happened to have the page on my watchlist, so I'd appreciate if editors more involved with the upkeep of this page could make a decision on what to do with the duplicated data. Map: Tiers as of 26 December

It's a fairly trivial point, but the colour in this map for the Isle of Skye should be the same dark purple as for the Scottish mainland. The Isle of Skye is on the same "Stay at home" lockdown as most of the rest of the country. I'm not experienced enough at editing Wikipedia to know how to change the colour myself. This is now a historical event and needs to be re-written as such

This means:

• Getting rid of the minute-by-minute, day-by-day coverage. Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS.
• Same goes for events that can only be sourced to primary sourcing - they might have been big news at the time, but if secondary sources don't think they were, it's time to analyse if we're giving them WP:UNDUE coverage. FOARP (talk) 16:10, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
