This country has no confirmed cases yet since January 2020 and this means there are no Ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in Turkmenistan as it's described in the fragment of that page. If there is news about first outbreak in country or region, then please provide useful sources. 2A02:2F01:6504:6200:50CA:B598:9409:2D50 (talk) 07:57, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- UPDATE: In Turkmenistan, there are 2 suspected cases, according to various outlets. If there is first outbreak in Turkmenistan going to happen, this unaffected country will be admitted to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic label which lead the region to feel the presence of SARS-Cov-2 strain. 2A02:2F01:6504:6200:50CA:B598:9409:2D50 (talk) 17:49, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- UPDATE (19:25, 16 June 2020 (UTC)): Meanwhile, Mx. Granger reversed the course, dismissing changes , with clarification that actually still not a confirmed case - maybe they're concerned it's a false positive? ... but the source says the country still has no confirmed cases. 2A02:2F01:6504:6200:50CA:B598:9409:2D50 (talk) 19:25, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- The June 16 source says "Turkmenistan, the only country in Central Asia that has not officially registered coronavirus cases, has reportedly locked down two major hospitals amid concerns of a possible COVID-19 outbreak." We shouldn't state that there's a confirmed case unless reliable sources say so. —Granger (talk · contribs) 19:30, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Mx. Granger: And this country isn't reporting the first COVID-19 case(s) anyway. I think this virus is circulating unreported. It may be asymptomatic cases. Unless the authorities don't make announcement, this is uncertain how the country has an outbreak. 2A02:2F01:6504:6200:50CA:B598:9409:2D50 (talk) 19:38, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- I agree with you. The article currently says "experts suspect that [the virus] may be spreading in the country unreported." —Granger (talk · contribs) 20:06, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

Turkmenistan never confirmed a single case of COVID,so we should remove the following categories: 2020 disasters in Turkmenistan,2021 disasters in Turkmenistan and 2022 disasters in Turkmenistan 2A01:5A8:303:C65E:C429:D4B1:68E5:61D (talk) 00:19, 16 April 2024 (UTC)

template. - While the government has not officially confirmed any cases, this likely says more about censorship (sourced in article) than the outbreak itself. The article covers drastic measures like canceling international flights, closing borders, and evacuating citizens from other countries - steps that are rarely taken outside of a disaster.
