structure of CX717
editYahoo Finance's COR board has some interesting theories on the structure of CX717:
“Experiments were conducted to study the neuroprotective effect of two positive modulators of AMPA receptors, Ampakine CX516 [1-(quinoxalin-6-ylcarbonyl)piperidine] and the related compound CX727. CX727 is a metabolically stable analog of Ampakine CX516”
So, CX727 is amide ring closed CX516 (no big difference in structure really).
As CX691 is the most tested Ampakine after CX516, it appears CX717 is CX691 with amide ring closed.
CX691's formula is 1-(2,1,3-benzoxadiazol-5-ylcarbonyl)piperidine.
Press releases
editMost of the content on this page appears to be derived from Cortex press releases. In particular, all the material introduced by User:Ampakines on 2007-05-18 is simply a verbatim quotation from a Cortex press release, with a bit of wikilinking added and no acknowledgement of its origin.
I've tried to make it a bit clearer where this comes from and to make potentially controversial claims take the form "According to a Cortex press release, ...". The article could do with further cleanup to make it more encyclopaedic and less recycled PR. Gareth McCaughan (talk) 12:28, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Use of CX-717
editHas anyone reading this essay been through clinical trials of and/or Rxed CX-717--especially if diagnosed with an impaired or borderline-impaired mnemonic function? What effects, good or bad, did you notice? Side-effects? John Frazier York (talk) 05:48, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
