Non-external link
editWhy is their an internal link in external links section. It also seems unrelated. I chose to remove it.

editThe top google hits and the microsoft FAQ are too cluttered with extraneous detail to be useful to people who only need a quick explanation of these files, so a better summary here would be useful. I expect many people who reach this page are not looking for technical details, but have just come across a bunch of .cab files cluttering their storage (especially on Windows Mobile devices with limited space) and are wondering whether they can be deleted (like .zip files generally can, after an install). Do these files need to be treated with care? Do apps keep using them after the first time? There a bit of intelligible information here [1] DKEdwards 16:54, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Redirects - Accurate?
editExpand redirects here, so I had compact do the same thing. That said, I'd like to verify that .cab and .??_ are related format and that compact actually should redirect here. If not, can we fix this by expanding this article, or do we need to break the other two out somewhere else? MrZaiustalk 13:37, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
"often associated [by whom?]"
editThe "often associated" phrase is marked with "[by whom?]", but this is the wrong meaning of "associated." In this context, it means "the file extension is often set to be associated by the operating system with a certain program," not "people often associate the extension with certain programs." --2600:8807:A641:D200:102A:F736:99EB:2078 (talk) 09:09, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
