What was Cable & Wireless/Western Union International?
editI recall there being a semi independent company by that name. RichardBond (talk) 08:29, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Missing information: Europe and Japan
editI worked for Cable & Wireless between 1999 and 2003 (when I joined it was called Cable & Wireless Communications - I don't remember whether this was the official company name or just the term used for the UK business). A number of European ISPs were purchased (8 I think, including Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands), as was Racal(?) in the Netherlands, and merged, to create a business known as Cable & Wireless Europe. A US business (part of MCI?) and a Japanese business: IDC (International Digital Communications), where purchased and merged to create 'Cable and Wireless Global' (the Japanese subsidiary was named Cable & Wireless IDC). It was a period of major change. However, much of this is missing from the article.FreeFlow99 (talk) 08:45, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
