Cablemas is the second-largest cable operator in Mexico. It has offered cable since the late 1960s, and broadband internet since the late 1990s for nearly forty cities in Mexico with approximately 675,000 video subscribers as of September 2006. Cablemas is also the first cable company to distribute IP Telephony in Tijuana, Baja California since September 2005 and in Cuernavaca since March 2007.

To provide IP Telephony services, Cablemas made an alliance with Axtel, a telephone company operating from Monterrey, and the Cablemas-Axtel Alliance had 20,000 lines as of September 2006. Cablemas is providing IP Telephony in Cuernavaca jointly with Bestel. Cablemas was granted 22 IP telephony concessions during the second semester of 2006, so will be able to offer IP telephony directly instead of the carrier of carriers' scheme.
