CTC-V
editWhat is the difference between a CTS-V and a CTC-V?
A: There is no such thing as a CTC-V, that's a typo, agreed that CTC-V should be merged with CTS-V...
Having read both entries, and agree there is no such thing as the CTC-V, the CTS-V entry is sufficient and the CTC-V add's no value to the site. I wouldn't bother merging, just delete the errant CTC-V entry and retain the CTS V entry
There appears to be some aftermarket cosmetics that I have seen on regular CTS cars with the CTC letters. The car is not a V except for the grill change and go fast adornments.
Many people use CTC as short hand for the 2-door version of the CTS. This is because the CTS is largely regarded as being short for "Catera Touring Sedan" and thus the name becomes "Catera Touring Coupe" when it becomes a 2-door. Similarly, some use CTC-V to indicate the 2-door version of the CTS-V. GM is unlikely to use this CTC or CTC-V names when the CTS coupe comes out.Bollinger (talk) 20:16, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
naming
editShouldn't the article be titled Cadillac CTS-V? --Aldis90
I agree. Considering that Cadillac refers to the V-series not as one car, but of 3 different cars. That, and Cadillac doesn't market the CTS-V as the CTS V-series. There is a hyphen between the S in CTS and the V; the word "series" doesn't even enter the picture. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.89.215.104 (talk) 22:39, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- How exactly is that done, anyway? I unsucessfully attempted to do so ended up looking stupid.--24.89.215.104 (talk) 03:28, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Requested move
editCadillac CTS V-Series → Cadillac CTS-V — More common name per WP:NC#1, correct placement of hyphen preferred per WP:MOSTM, removal of unnecessary word "series" for conciseness, and conformity with Cadillac XLR-V — Chaparral2J (talk) 04:57, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm replying to this old comment since it's somewhat related to current events. Someone removed the entire cts-v page and put the information under the standard cts wiki page. This is not only confusing but inaccurate since there is a very low percentage of shared parts between the standard V and the CTS V Ciper (talk) 21:14, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
Generation
editShouldnt the generations of CTS-V match with the ordinary CTS? 3rd gen beginning at 2014. model year 2011 for 2nd gen, is that correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wroom (talk • contribs) 07:50, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
Technical Specifications
editI believe that this is a pushrod engine with roller rockers and roller tips....most distinctly not overhead cam with the related noise, complexity and chain stretch. This has some relevance for the industry where the vast majority of engines (of any sort) live 99% of their lives under 3,000 rpm. If I'm correct about the valve gear drive, I would appreciate if it was posted as such. 68.90.159.161 (talk) 23:40, 12 December 2009 (UTC)homebuilding

This article states that the CTS-V in 2010 had a top speed of 198 MPH, making it the fastest production sedan in the world. This statement is innacurate in multiple ways. The first of which is that I don't believe the top speed is actually 198 MPH although I am not too certain of what the true top speed is, this should be looked into or deleted for now. The other part which I am sure of is that 198MPH would not even make it the fastest production sedan in the world. The E60 M5 which was made before 2009 when the CTS-V was introduced has a top speed of 204 MPH. 75.102.121.53 (talk) 21:30, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- DoneI removed the content because it was unsourced. A claim to be the fastest in the world needs a citation. Even sourced, it would need to be in the past tense because the new Hellcat Charger reaches 204 mph. Bahooka (talk) 21:42, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Next Generation 2016+ CTS-V Photos
editI have a photo taken of a pre-production (but final to-market) model CTS-V which I would be willing to release all rights to for the benefit of the Wikipedia article. Would the community be interested in using this for the next generation photo?
