Caher was an older spelling, and is a frequent misspelling of the town of Cahir in County Tipperary, Ireland. Would a disambiguation rather than a redirect be more appropriate? RashersTierney (talk) 16:47, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Historic Townlands in Ireland called Caher

edit

Currently compiling a list of other historic townlands in Ireland called Caher from Return of Poor Law Unions in Ireland, ex. 1864 Volume 53 at EPPI[1] Will post later RashersTierney (talk) 08:50, 26 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I appreciate the effort in sourcing all possible "Caher"s in the country (of which there are many), but a DAB page shouldn't be an extensive list. In general the project shouldn't be treated as a directory, and so the list is a bit excessive. Instead, DAB pages should focus on the main notable meanings, and shouldn't replace a set list. See WP:DAB. Keep up the good work though. Guliolopez (talk) 18:26, 26 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Had to sit down and have a nice cup of tea after seeing it all go up in smoke, but fair comment. RashersTierney (talk) 13:18, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Should this article link to the Wikipedia article on caer, a Welsh word with the same meaning? Philippachaucer (talk) 04:17, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Possibly as a "see also" or similar. But not as a direct DAB. Guliolopez (talk) 11:35, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
