Why merge?

edit

Why should this be merged with dulce de leche? This is nothing like dulce de leche. Why, because it's mexican? Because both of them use spanish words on the labels? You racist jerks! Just kidding, but they're different.

Hello. Someone that know, please inform what is the difference between "Cajeta" and "Dulce de Leche". In Colombia there is a similar milk candy named "Arequipe". Is the same as Cajeta? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.249.163.208 (talk) 00:41, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

History?

edit

An anonymous editor added this twice, but without any sources:

"==History== The point of which Cajeta was invented is unknown. However it has been a popular sauce to use on a variety of desserts for a long time. Cajeta originated in Celaya in the state of Guanajuato, in Mexico.

However when Mexico began to pull free of Spanish rule, Cajeta started to become very popular.

This was because cajeta became part of soldier’s ration due to its delicious taste, and how it lasted longer than other foods. Throughout the years Cajeta has acquired many different recipes. " Candleabracadabra (talk) 20:54, 16 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Removed from article

"According to chef Rick Bayless, the name for cajeta came from the Spanish phrase al punto de cajeta, which means "a liquid thickened to the point at which a spoon drawn through the liquid reveals the bottom of the pot in which it is being cooked".[citation needed] Another hypothesis is that it takes its name from the small wooden boxes in which it was traditionally packed."

CajetaCajeta de Celaya – This article is about the solid dulce de leche confection, "cajeta" is just another name for dulce de leche. ReyHahn (talk) 13:33, 2 July 2021 (UTC) Relisting. Colonestarrice (talk) 12:37, 30 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
