XQYY or XQYYYY system
editWhere does the XQYY or XQYYYY yearly quarters system derive from? Is this from a BS spec? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.169.35.1 (talk) 12:29, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

editThis article should be merged into Year, which has a section on calendar years. Ben Finn (talk) 12:08, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Hebrew Calendar
editIt does not have an "average length of 365.2468 days" - unless it's a leap year, a Hebrew calendar year never reaches 360 days. See here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.80.240.112 (talk) 04:45, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Calendar vs fiscal quarters
editIt looks like the quarters here were recently changed to US fiscal quarters. But this page is about the Calendar year, so I think these should be calendar quarters, where Q1 starts with January. Or perhaps I've misunderstood?
Etymology
editA calendar year is divided into Quartals (a period, as in time) which are quarters (quotient, as in mathematics, division) of a year (time), using the Quaternary numeral system (hence the confusion). [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.239.241.248 (talk) 07:04, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
