Neutrality

edit

Serious problems with neutrality in the article. It looks like a PR dude from the Calgary Herald just came in and changed anything that might e ven look bad.

Perhaps. I think the article ahould give more information about the Herald's editorial positions. The newspaper strikes me as being fairly liberal for a media publication in Alberta, which is one of the most conservative provinces in Canada. The same thing could probably be said about the Kansas City Star, a left-leaning newspaper in one of the most conservative parts of the United States. ADM (talk) 19:34, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Calgary Herald.jpeg

edit

Image:Calgary Herald.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

No Sunday Publication

edit

The Calgary Herald as of spring 2012 ceased publication of a Sunday paper. I confirmed this by calling and speaking with reception at main # 403-235-7100 (called on September 8, 2014). Employee guessed it was April 2012. Reference news story suggests after May 2012 http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/postmedia-cutting-jobs-sunday-editions-1.1153950

My suggestion is to somehow allude to or mention this somewhere in the article or side bar? Aside from the phone call and searching through the CBC's archived news stories, this factoid was difficult to locate online. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.64.19.196 (talk) 17:37, 8 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Political Alignment

edit

I am aware that the Calgary Sun's wikipedia page states that it's political alignment is 'conservative', would it be appropriate to label the Calgary Herald as having a political alignment to given that they share an editor and are managed by the same company now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ellemrei (talkcontribs) 14:15, 22 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
