Orphaned references in Califon, New Jersey

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Califon, New Jersey's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "CensusArea":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 23:47, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Background of Califon Historical Society

edit

Hi Everyone!

As part of a school assignment, I am required to make edits to an existing Wikipedia article that I am knowledgable about. I decided to choose my hometown, Califon, giving more light the Historical Society that remains apart of the town. I am suggesting the following edits which would be made within the subsection Historical District:

- Founded in 1973, the Califon Historical Society (CHS) is dedicated to preserving and commemorating the rich history and cultural heritage of the town. Over the years, the Society has curated an extensive collection of memorabilia, encompassing photographs, personal belongings, and artifacts from businesses that once thrived in the Califon community. The Society is fortunate to call the Cabin by the River (also known as the Fishing Cabin on River Road) its headquarters, where members gather every third Tuesday of the month to discuss plans for upcoming exhibits and its Christmas open house. Annually, the Society showcases a themed exhibition of memorabilia during the summer, providing a unique lens into Califon's past.

If additionally context is required for the Cabin by the River and the annual Christmas open house, I also suggest the following edits:

Christmas open house - Each year, the Historical Society comes together to host their annual Christmas open house. The event takes place at both the Hoffman House and Cabin by the River where attendees can explore a curated display showcasing vintage toys, games, antique trains, holiday decor, and memorabilia. The event is open to the public, and complimentary hot coca and cookies are provided for guest to enjoy.

Cabin by the River - The Cabin by the River, commonly known as the Fishing Cabin, is situated on River Road, overlooking the South Branch of the Raritan River. With an estimated age surpassing 100 years, the property was acquired by Califon Borough in 2007 as part of the Nellie Hoffman Estate. Following its acquisition, the cabin underwent a restoration process and is currently under the management of the Califon Historical Society. The site is made accessible to the public on designated dates throughout the year; the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from 2:00-4:00 PM.
