Centre?

edit

Why is the MoS following the British spelling of Call centre? Center is more internationally recognized, even if call centers did originate in Britian. 2601:644:8D80:AB10:40D4:BFF:FEA8:CCC9 (talk) 22:02, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi IP, Wikipedia doesn't have a preference over national varieties of English. Generally, articles with strong national ties should use the English of that nation (e.g. article about an American airline should use American English).
Most likely someone from the UK created this article as the first version uses the spelling "centre". In such a case where an article uses one variety consistently, this should be retained and not changed to one's preference. See more about that at WP:ENGVAR. – NJD-DE (talk) 22:11, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Got it. Thanks for the reply, and explanation. 2601:644:8D80:AB10:40D4:BFF:FEA8:CCC9 (talk) 16:38, 22 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
