Zombies

Where are the sources that confirm that zombies will have its own campaign? Zombies has only been announced to run on the multiplayer engine and support 8 players, nothing else that I found mentioned a zombies campaign being confirmed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.111.139.164 (talk) 18:24, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

The zombies mode does NOT have its own campaign. What it has is nothing more than an easteregg. This should be clarified in the article. 99.190.72.20 (talk) 08:27, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

A very detailed internal leak has been confirmed on pastebay.net/1069625 and http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/detailed-black-ops-2-leaked-info-comments-on-youtube.761495/ Things in this document were revealed to be true when Activision released the multiplayer reveal trailer today — Preceding unsigned comment added by MPMoore1983 (talkcontribs) 00:47, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Engine

This page forgets to mention that black ops II will run on the Unreal 3 engine -unsigned by 206.176.112.69

I don't think the engine is confirmed but it will almost certainly be a variant of the IW 4.0 or MW3 engine. -- ferret (talk) 16:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Maybe it is better to replace the current picture on this page, with this high quality US boxart of Black Ops 2?

http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/4351/bops2pc.png or this one without the PC logos - http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/6112/bops2withoutlogo.png

The thing is that, according to {{game rationale}} and {{non-free use rationale video game cover}}, we need the source that the image came from. Can you tell where you got the images from? Thanks. -- Luke (Talk) 02:58, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Black ops 2

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is an first-person shooter video game, developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, to be released on November 13, 2012 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.[2][3][1] Black Ops II is the ninth game in the Call of Duty franchise of video games and a sequel to the 2010 game Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Black Ops II is the first game in the Call of Duty franchise to have a completely futuristic setting and feature future warfare technology. It also presents branching storylines driven by player choice for the first time in the franchise's history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Apowts (talkcontribs) 20:15, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Please remove the claim that this game is coming to the WiiU

There is absolutely nothing official that is out right now that upports the idea - Activision have not yet officially pledged the game, making it 100% in the realm of rumours at this point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.174.8.41 (talk) 11:11, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Edit Request on 11 November

The article states that Wager Matches have been removed, "Furthermore, the "wager matches" feature included in Call of Duty: Black Ops has been removed."
While "Wager Matches" are no longer included, as "COD Points" have been removed, the game modes themselves,
e.g "Gun Game, Sticks and Stones, One in the Chamber", have been included in a new playlist called "Party Games".

Ending

As I played Black Ops yesterday, i noticed that in the end it was different from the endings on the page. It showed Alex Mason meeting Frank Woods in the home, Menendez getting ready for lighting him-self up in his sister's grave, and Woods and Menendez getting ready for practice when all of a sudden two guys come out and tell them to get ready, leading to them playing a song for a large crowd of people (including Alex Mason, Chloe Lynch, the President, and others). I let Menendez live, Killed Chloe, shoot Alex Mason in the leg, spared Harper or whatever his name was... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daniel Figueroa (talkcontribs) 07:27, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

The ending concert appears regardless of what you do. For lack of a better term, it's a small easter egg. It's not part of the storyline. 165.139.138.29 (talk) 16:35, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

ps3 freezing destroying consoles

I think all the problems this game has had on ps3 need to be mentioned. It causes hard reset freezes that have corrupted a ton of ps3s and killed my original 60gb ps3. I bought a new one and it still freezes so I'm sure it's the black ops 2 game itself. They've acknowledged the issue but done nothing to fix it and this should be included in the reception section about the game. I'm amazed that I'm the first person discussing this on wikipedia, this should have been put in here months ago. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.26.187 (talk) 18:43, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

22 PC SPECIFICATIONS & TECHNOLOGY ENHANCEMENTS INTEL Posted by BlackOpsNews Sep 2, 2012 What are the Minimum System Requirements? OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz Memory: 2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB

Can I run the game on Windows XP? No, sorry. Since we upgraded the engine to use DirectX11, Windows XP is no longer supported. It requires Windows Vista or later.

Will the game actually be playable on my minimum spec machine? Absolutely. We have tested extensively on a variety of hardware and we are very confident in the performance even at the minimum specs.

What engine is used for Black Ops II? The Black Ops II engine builds upon the Black Ops engine with a number of improvements including performance optimizations, enhanced graphics, and proprietary anti-cheat technology.

What performance optimizations have you introduced for Black Ops II? Performance has been a top priority for Black Ops II PC from day one and we have achieved significant improvements. We’ve improved the way the engine handles multiple threads. Additionally, we moved the engine from DX9 to DX11. The DX11 API is leaner than DX9 and requires less CPU time to do the same amount of work. It is important to point out that this benefits the entire range of supported GPUs, not just DX11 hardware. We have also added more “quality vs performance” options than ever before so you can customize your experience to either run faster or to satisfy your taste in eye candy.

You mentioned enhanced graphics for the PC version. Can you tell us more about that? Black Ops II PC features enhanced lighting, shadows, antialiasing, bloom, depth of field, ambient occlusion, and other enhanced effects that are still in the works. And the game can run at higher resolutions and higher framerates on the PC.

Will there be a framerate cap? No. Unless you want one. We have included an adjustable FPS cap slider in the game options. The minimum setting is OFF

dlc extra info

add a note to the dlc section pointing out that despite the box for the wii u version of the game stating it will have dlc, dlc has yet to make it to the wii u leaving fans owning the wii u version in outrage. both activision and treyarch have refused to give a statement on wii u dlc status simply ignoring anyone who asks. additionally a treyarch developer whith the forum name A_Trey_U mocks the fan outrage on the forums. http://community.callofduty.com/thread/200594407?start=80&tstart=0 (post on page 9) 82.22.61.92 (talk) 10:50, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Have added content:

No DLC has been released for the Wii U edition of the game to date. On 27 March 2013, Activision revealed that they were considering releasing Revolution, but a firm decision has not yet been made.

However, I found no evidence in the forum of the developer actively mocking the fans, he makes about three comments in the forums, none of which are mocking in tone.Dvdmad100 (talk) 02:12, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Character Customization

From the article:

In developing Black Ops II, Treyarch introduced several revisions to the gameplay mechanics for online multiplayer that have been a hallmark of the Call of Duty franchise. These include the introduction of "multi-team" games that allow matches to host three or more teams of players, in counternance to the traditional two factions,[47] and revisions to the "Create-A-Class" function that allows users to create customised characters for use in multiplayer matches.
I've played the multiplayer and there is no character customization whatsoever in the game. Can someone who has the ability to edit the article remove that mention of character customization and replace it with another new feature, like maybe revisions to the Prestige system or something similar? 172.2.245.197 (talk) 19:23, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
That was an unfortunate error, I have made a quick change based on the fact that the class customisation interface has been overhauled. As a result I have changed the text to read "and revisions to the "Create-A-Class" function that allows users to select which guns, attachments, weapon camouflage and perks (additional bonuses that alter aspects of gameplay) to use in multiplayer matches.". If you want to add in any data on the prestige system, please go ahead. Dvdmad100 08:07, 13 May 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dvdmad100 (talkcontribs)
