Survey - in support of the move

  2. Support - Although I haven't been able to find a definitive source for what this stands for, "Called Subscriber" makes the most grammatical sense given that it is the receiving or "called" station that is being identified here.-- --== Waycool27 ==-- 01:35, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Survey - in opposition to the move

  • Comment No result is found when searching Call Subscriber ID on Google while a lot are found for Called Subscriber Identification. Thus it seems me that Call Subscriber ID is not the most common form. --Armando82 23:26, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

In fact, Google gives very similar results for three possibilities ("Call Subscriber ID", "Called Subscriber ID" and "Called Subscriber Identification"). That leaves the more grammatical option, or the one preferred by a majority of editors as the preferred option, and in this case it also tallies with the "Prefer spelled-out phrases to abbreviations" advice at WP:NC. This article has been renamed from Call Subscriber ID to Called Subscriber Identification as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 16:19, 27 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

CSID Flow

edit

Currently the page describes the CSID as something that the receiving fax machine transmits to the sending fax machine. It appears to me from my testing that this is also something that the sending fax machine sends to the receiving fax machine. If this is the case, this fact should be added to the page so that it is clear that always or sometimes (?) there is a 2-way exchange of CSIDs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmjm20 (talkcontribs) 23:30, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
