Semi-protection

edit

Would there be a case for semi-protecting this article? The vast majority of edits to this seem to be additions by IP addresses (very likely the same person) that are promptly reverted by any one of a large number of registered users. — ras52 (talk) 11:22, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think that would be going overboard at this stage. I would say these are good-faith edits by an inexperienced user. Certainly, we should encourage him/her to register, and then we can try and provide some help in getting used to Wikipedia conventions and style, but I think semi-protection at this stage is a bit drastic. If the anonymous user becomes truly disruptive, then it may be time to reconsider. Skinsmoke (talk) 15:58, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm not so sure, I've been clearing up after this IP user around Worcestershire articles for months, and he is technically banned, though difficult to enforce because of the dynamic IP. He has received many warnings about his edits. However, it will be difficult to stop him without semi protecting half of the north Worcestershire related articles! In that case, "fry him"! Skinsmoke (talk) 17:21, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
