editMaybe I just missed something. The lead indicates two different addresses for the two lighthouses. It also indicates a final disposition as: The generator shed is "located close to both lighthouses", "all clustered together near the Canberra Terrace boundary". Is the two addresses just old information or possibly the two still maintain separate addresses even though moved back together? Otr500 (talk) 01:29, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- All three structures are about 60 metres away from Arthur Street. Calling the location "Corner of Arthur Street and Canberra Terrace" is not exactly correct; "Canberra Terrace near Arthur Street" would describe it better. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 05:33, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
I will see if I can find sourcing on the current address. Otr500 (talk) 02:35, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Michael Bednarek and Otr500: I can explain why the addresses are as they are. If you look at the map of the area protected by the heritage listing, you see that the land includes 2 lots of freehold land, one of which is on Canberra Terrace with the lighthouses and the other on Arthur Street. They protected the Arthur Street block because "The lighthouse surrounds (reserve and public park) correspond to the 1896-1974 lighthouse reserve, and are important in demonstrating the area needed for a manned lightstation". Although not stated, there is probably archeological potential in the Arthur Street block so that's why they need to protect it from development. But for the purposes of the readers of Wikipedia, I think it is OK just to give the Canberra Terrace address. If someone wants to visit the lighthouses, that's the address they need.
