Augustan Regions
editWas Augustan Regio VI (Alta Semita) really considered part of the Campus Martius? Maps in 2 different books (Coarelli, "Guida Archeologica di Roma", van Heck, "Breviarum Urbis Romae Antiquae") show Alta Semita lying what looks like too far to the east to be safely part of the Campus Martius area. Alta Semita is completely east of Regio VII Via Lata, which I thought was roughly the eastern boundary of the CM. From the maps, Regio VIII (Forum Romanum) would even seem to have a better claim than Alta Semita!
If I don't hear any objections, I will probably remove all mention of Alta Semita from the CM article.
Splitting needed
editAs explained in the introduction, Campus Martius is not equal to the rione Campo Marzio! The rioni S.Angelo, S.Eustachio, Colonna, Ponte, Parione, Pigna, Regola, part of Trevi and Campitelli, lie all on the ancient Campus Martius. So we need to split this article. Campus Martius will be a voice devoted to the ancient Rome Region, Campo Marzio (rione of Rome) will be devoted to the rione. Is it OK for you? If I won't hear any objection, I will proceed.
Copeyedit needed
editI don't know who recently (or not recently) wrote/rewrote this article, but this article has all the flaws of articles on Roman and in general Italian art stuff written by Anglophones: from translation errors ("Porta del Popolo", a name originating as "Poplar's Gate" translated as "Door of the People"!!), typos with doubles (CaraRRa!!!), repetitions, not to speak of the poor, elementary school-level style. --'''Attilios''' (talk) 12:46, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
I can't help but notice ...
editAll the holes inflicted that look like bullet holes or modern gunpowder shot damage at least, yet not a single word on damage to the building in the article. What's the deal? <!//– ☠ ʇdɯ0ɹd ɥsɐq ☠ // user // talk // twitter //–> 10:19, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
