Wikify!

edit

It seems I am the only person working on this article. Because of the popularity of American Idol, and Canadian Idol, I figured this article would develop as quickly as the American Idol article did. However, that does not appear to be so. Unfortunately, I have no clue how to wikify articles, and the instructions listed in the template are not very helpful. If someone could help me out, I would appreciate it. Thank you. Canadian_Idol_Fan 01:59, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow CI fan! I think the reason why it hasn't developed as much as the American Idol article is simply because the US is a bigger country so there are a lot more people interested in AI. As for "wikifying", it simply means bringing coding and the like up to Wikipedia standard. That's only a problem for the finalists table. I'll try and do that when I get the time. By the way, could you work on the Season Four article, and style it a bit like the American Idol Season 5 article? I'd appreciate that so much! And I'd be sure to help. Canadian_Idol_Fan 00:19, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • In this case, to me American Idol is so overly edited & has pointless information it really is not consistent, the way Canadian Idol is edited is great, needs a bit of work but not like US Idol.

Current Event Tag

edit

Considering this season is currently underway, can we tag it? --WestJet 16:17, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

See Canadian Idol (Season 4). FellowWikipedian 00:44, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mystery numbers

edit

Maybe I've missed it, but what do the 2's, 3's and 4's mean after contestants' names, eg: "2 September Love Songs Audrey de Montigny (2) Gary Beals (2)" PKT 18:14, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think it's the number of times the contestant has appeared in the bottom three (or two). -Gemtiger 03:11, 23 November 2006 (UTC)okReply

Fair use rationale for Image:Melissa oneil melissa oneil.jpg

edit

Image:Melissa oneil melissa oneil.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:26, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Genre

edit

The genre on this article was changed from "Interactive Reality Game Show" to "Talent Show". I reverted the edit, although I agree with it; the problem was that it replaced live wikilinks with a dead one. Not only that, but an article for Talent Show has previously been deleted after an AFD. Bon Jovi

edit

There's a line in the trivia section that says "Bon Jovi made its first Canadian TV appearance on Canadian Idol". I'm eliminating this line, because it's absolute rubbish. Bon Jovi has been on MuchMusic many times going back to the 1980's. Greg Salter (talk) 15:48, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Star Académie

edit

I deleted the words in the beggining saying that Canadian Idol is know as Star Académie in Québec, which is false, since Star Académie is our rendering of the French tv show and has nothing to do with the Idol franchise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.65.244.7 (talk) 03:02, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
