Update Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Wikipedia Page

edit

Here are a list of items that I believe should be added to the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame's (CSHF) Wikipedia page. The organization has undergone significant change since it was last updated.

1) At the top of the page, in the summary area, I believe it would be useful to add the following "Since its inaugural induction ceremony in 2003, 50 songwriters and individuals and 130 songs have been inducted into the CSHF. Past inductees include Robert Charlebois, Gordon Lighfoot, Randy Bachman, Claude Léveillée, Burton Cummings, Leonard Cohen, Gilles Vigneault, Joni Mitchell, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Paul Anka, Claude Dubois, Rush, Robbie Robertson and Luc Plamondon. (Reference : http://www.cshf.ca/inductees/alphabetically/)

2) Under the heading "History" after the sub heading "Founder", I believe a sub heading labeled SOCAN should immediately follow, with the following text.

SOCAN

In December 2011, SOCAN – the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada acquired the assets of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame's mandate aligns with SOCAN's objectives as a songwriter and publisher membership-based organization. The CSHF continues to be run as a separate organization with its own board of directors. (Reference: http://www.socan.ca/news/socan-moves-strengthen-canadian-songwriters-hall-fame-0)

3) Under awards/Northern Island, I think it would be useful to mention that the award is given to songwriter inductees. Furthermore, two additional subheadings titled "Frank Davies Founder's Award" and "Legacy Award" should be added as follows:

Frank Davies Founder's Award

The Frank Davies Founder's Award is given to individuals who have dedicated a lifetime to building the Canadian music industry. Recipients receive the Northern Island Award.

Legacy Award

The Legacy Award is presented to individuals who have contributed significantly to the development, promotion and preservation of Canadian songs and songwriters. Legacy Award inductees receive the Northern Island Award.
