Original research?
editSince this information is not cited and seems pretty complex and inane so as to not have appeared in normal media publications (unless there is some Ottawa Cat quarterly or something) it is probably original research perhaps done by some clerk. I have never been opposed to original research at wiki, I just wanted to flesh this out.
- the article has a reference from a government site. I'd say that'sapretty solid reference. Circeus 16:13, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Do a google search for 'Parliament hill cats' and you'll find lots of hits. This is a legit article, even though its subject is pretty odd. I have lived in Ottawa for 12 years and am still amazed buy the cats at the hill :-) James R. Skinner
- And I'm definitely not "some clerk", nor in any way involved with the care or upkeep of the cats. At best, I've visited them like any other Ottawa resident, that's about it. Sherurcij (talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject) 15:30, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
"Chartand"?
editCould someone confirm the name is "Chartand"? It sounds alot like a typo for "Chartrand"... Circeus 16:13, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- The blog link gives "Rene Chartand", but I did a quick search and Cyberpal Internet Adventure and Parliament Hill Suits Cats Purr-fectly both give "Rene Chartrand". We need an Ottowa resident to help here. Aclapton 16:56, 16 April 2006 (UTC) (PS: Edited it to indent) Aclapton 17:00, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
The correct spelling is "Rene Chartrand". The blog spelling was an error, and has been corrected. K. Gerken 17:02, 28 April 2006 (UTC).
Bruno
editShouldn't Bruno be among the past residents, not current ones, since he was removed from the "sanctuary"? Miraculouschaos 19:23, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Good point, moved him Sherurcij (talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject) 19:26, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Personally I'm reverting out the standard image of Parliament, since I think its wikilink appearing in the opening sentence gives enough context, and I'd rather see the image of the cats in a "contextual" setting around the cannons - it's not like it's a closeup of a cat-face. Anyways, opinions welcome from others Sherurcij (talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject) 23:18, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Cost of Upkeep
editIs the $6000 a year cited in the article in US dollars or Canadian dollars? Pugs Malone 02:03, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
