U.S. equivalent
editThere was a similar manina in the U.S. in the early 1800's. It resulted in the building of the Erie Canal, the beginning (but non-completion) of the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal, the James River system, and in the bankruptcy of the State of Indiana, amongst others, and needs to be noted/linked. 75.252.160.194 (talk) 02:40, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
