Should the Family First Party candidates get their own column? They seem to have already announced in a lot of seats and I think they said they'd run in all, happy to wait till nominations close but interested in people's thoughts Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 01:07, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It would certainly help declutter the 'other candidates' column, but I don't think the FFP is relevant enough to warrant being given their own column. They haven't been included in any polls and most, if not all, of their candidates are ghost candidates with no campaign and nothing but an empty Facebook page, if even that.
That's true. I primarily keep track of Queensland elections, so I wasn't aware of how other the other state's candidate pages are formatted. Unfortunately there isn't exact consistency across the board for state election pages and precedence can often be ignored as the years pass and someone comes up with a new way of doing things. I'm not sure which is the "correct" way to set up this page, but given it's been a month since your first post and no one else has objected, perhaps it's fine to go ahead and add columns for a few more parties?
Although from there I do wonder what the cut off should be? I had a suspicion that this has been brought up before on one of the other pages and it seems it was, at the bottom of Talk:Candidates of the 2023 New South Wales state election. Unfortunately no one replied so it still hasn't been settled, but if this page adopted their concept we would actually need to remove the KAP column, rather than add more for the LCQ, FFP and LBT. Thoughts? The2016 (talk) 08:14, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yeah look it's tough, I think KAP should be there purely because of their relevancy...maybe wait and see for when all candidates are finalised to see if the "Other" section is cluttered enough to require FFP being its own thing? Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 08:57, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Looks like the FFP only got 59 candidates nominated, but that's still 30 more than the next minor party after them (LCQ). The "other" column does look a bit cramped in some places now, so it's probably fine to go ahead and move the FFP into its own. The2016 (talk) 06:16, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Have seen the page name has been changed to "Candidates for the 2024 Queensland state election" from "Candidates of", for grammatical reasons. It's ultimately quite minor but every other candidate page for every other Australian election is "Candidates of", and grammatically that still makes sense - probably worth changing it back unless we want to change the name of every other candidate page.
