This article references a BBC news website article by Roland Pease. However, many of the words are copied verbatim from the BBC article. At work, if I read this as part of a students work, I would call them in to discuss plagiarism: are there copyright issues using text taken from BBC web pages? - I just deleted the affected section (subsequent editors had altered it a bit, but it was still recognizable). For anyone in a similar situation in the future, please delete the plagiarized text immediately (or follow the procedures at WP:CP if it's the whole article) rather than mentioning it on a talk page where no one will see it for a year. This page has the number of individuals at 1028, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oligotroph says 1027? 59.94.143.101 (talk) 05:09, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
This topic seems too important for such a short article are there no experts around which could put a few minutes into tidying up this page?
So what does the most common organism eat? Is it a cyanobacteria? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.179.33.24 (talk) 11:53, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

Questionable relevance
edit'Its discovery was the subject of "Oceans of Microbes", Episode 5 of "Intimate Strangers: Unseen Life on Earth" by PBS' - I'm not sure why we should care about that, it certainly isn't a characteristic of P. ubique. HairyDan (talk) 18:40, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
