Online Buying

edit

There seem to be an issue in the "British Columbia" section about online buying, first of all the age for Quebec buyers seems wrong and also the place it is in seems out of place. Sorry in advance if the format is wrong please do correct me if you wish. 19:01, 05 June 2021 (UTC)

Chart

edit

I am having issues with the chart. I find it rather too big and it overflows the main content. Only a user with a larger resolution can see the table in its entirety. Callmemirela 🍁 talk 20:16, 24 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

This article still needs updating

edit

As the tag has indicated, this article is out of date and needs updating. I have updated the text of the introductory sections, and the sections about Ontario and Manitoba, but the chart will need work AND the sections discussing each province in text also need to be updated.

Information as to each province's law is readily available now and is fully up to date:

e.g. Ontario: Link to Ontario's website https://www.ontario.ca/page/cannabis-legalization Legal age: 19 Where legal to buy: Government-operated online store but does not mention that stores will be opened in 2019 by private enterprise Public possession limit: 30 grams

The sections covering each province (after the chart) should be easy to update after the chart is up to date and accurate.

I am working on updating the three major articles Cannabis in Canada, Cannabis in Canada and Legality of cannabis in Canada, so I hope that other editors will update the chart in this article. Peter K Burian (talk) 17:13, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

great job....leave it to you to remove tags.--Moxy (talk) 17:32, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
thanks, Moxy, I don't feel that the tags should be removed until the entire article is updated, including the Chart and the sections about each province. Cheers, Peter K Burian (talk) 18:00, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
OK, I updated the individual sections about Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta. Of course, after doing so, I removed the tag that had warned about those sections not being up to date. Peter K Burian (talk) 19:19, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

NOTE: I have now also finished updating ALL of the provincial sections but NOT the chart. Peter K Burian (talk) 22:01, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Should we delete articles about Cannabis in each province, e.g. Cannabis in Ontario

edit

There is a full series of articles for each province, such as Cannabis in Ontario. Some of those articles are outdated.

I wonder if there is any need for those articles now, in any event. If we can get Cannabis laws of Canada by province or territory updated, then could those articles be deleted? Your thoughts @User:Moxy Peter K Burian (talk) 17:35, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

that's a great point they all start off the same exact same sentence why don't we consolidate then all.--Moxy (talk) 17:49, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Well, let's get Cannabis laws of Canada by province or territory, including the sections on each province and territory, updated. We can then discuss how to proceed with the separate articles such as Cannabis in Ontario, Cannabis in Manitoba, Cannabis in Alberta etc. Peter K Burian (talk) 19:21, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Copy paste moves....the create redirects for attributes....sounds easy.--Moxy (talk) 19:55, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
So far, I have also updated this article's sections on Alberta, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, BC, Ontario, Manitoba AND the related articles such as Cannabis in Alberta etc. Yes, I have used some of the same, fully-cited content for the intro to the articles about Cannabis in each province, since the national Act is the same for all jurisdictions. Of course, I have provided specifics for each of the provinces articles, since some aspects do differ from one to the other. Peter K Burian (talk) 20:47, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm not taking a position either way, but I'll just note that I made both the "by jurisdiction" chart and the "individually by province" articles because that's what we have for the US and I was aiming for a parallel structure. It's fine if folks don't think it's needed, or is redundant or whatnot, but that's the reason I made the structure, which seems to work pretty well for the US. Arguably it makes sense for the US but less so for Canada because American states have a higher degree of independence and we have a lot of documentation of individual states' histories of political and cultural wrangling over cannabis. I was honestly surprised when working up 50 articles for the states (plus for US territories) that I was able to find substantive and interesting documented facts about practically every single one. I have no powerful desired to delete the articles such as Cannabis in Ontario and the other nine Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney, but it was certainly tedious to update all ten of them AND Cannabis in Canada AND Cannabis laws of Canada by province or territory. Of course, there might not be a lot of changes now that cannabis laws are fixed and sales are underway; the articles are up to date. And unlike the US states, there is not much of a difference from one province to the other. Peter K Burian (talk) 23:08, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
