Talk:Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

Untitled

edit

There is a minor factual mistake with the Canonsburg Wikipedia page.

In this sentence:

Theodosius Lazor, Metropolitan Bishop of the United States and Canada for the Russian Orthodox Church.

The correct name of the Church is "Orthodox Church in America". The organization does have its roots in the Russian Orthodox Church, but the proper designation is "Orthodox Church in America" or "OCA".

I am unsure about the process of editing pages that are not your original creation, so I will leave it up to the author to fix this minor mistake.

thank you.

It's a good Wikipedia page!!

Thanks for the correction... I'll get right to it! And thanks for reading!

nickname

edit

Canonsburg's nickname around the Pittsburgh area is "Guntown" (probably from the similarity between 'canon' and 'cannon') and even that is not heard too often anymore. Not "Most Radioactive City in America" which is quite a mouthful.

Things not in the borough

edit

I removed the references to businesses in Southpointe being located in the borough. Those are in Cecil Township, not Canonsburg. --Jcon9 (talk) 17:22, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Kurt Angle is Not From Canonsburg

edit

he's from Mount Lebanon. Marty Schottenheimer is from McDonald, Pa, Marvin Lewis is from McDonald, Pa, and Doug Kotar is from Cecil Township (Muse, Pa). In fact, Kotar used to joke about being from Muse. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.120.160.92 (talk) 16:52, 16 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Route 19

edit

I believe it is incorrect that U.S. Route 19 goes through Canonsburg. It is very close to the borough, but actually lies within North Strabane Twp. to the east. Consider a revision. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.125.168.39 (talk) 06:25, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mylan

edit

Reuters says that Canonsburg is the operations HQ for Mylan and they are incorporated in the Netherlands.

This article does not mention Maylan as having an office here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Russ64 (talkcontribs) 23:38, 8 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
