This article is the product of a college undergraduate assignment to create a Wikipedia article of my choice. This is the first true article I have created in almost twenty years as a user. I believe it is ready for publication in its current state, but I welcome any and all feedback.
Currently, Capitalocene redirects to the criticism section of Anthropocene. When that decision was made years ago, there was a belief by some editors that the Capitalocene did not meet notability standards. I think it is quite indisputable that, at present, the topic is notable enough to warrant its own article. As you can see from my present citations, the Capitalocene is an ongoing topic of discussion in both academia and such household publications as Wired, Le Monde, and Scientific American. I believe that the sectional layout of my draft breaks down information for readers seeking a simple definition as well as those wanting a reasonably thorough introduction to the topic.
I am still a little uncertain about my citation format. Is it acceptable to make some references with in-line code that puts the result in "Citations," while others are in the "References" appendix and referred to by short footnotes? I would also appreciate some guidance on extra stuff like categories, series, and end material, as that is not something I have dealt with before.
There is a major block quote with a CN slapped at the end. This is a quote that I translated from fr:Capitalocène, which did not list the source. I need some help with the short footnotes that refer to sources with more than one author, such as Pedersen et al. or Howe & Boyer. Currently these are not pointing to the corresponding References entry. How do I format that correctly?
Another matter: the Capitalocene is a topic in academic Feminism, but that is a field in which I have very little background. I would therefore appreciate it if those with more knowledge of it could contribute to this article. Nicknimh (talk) 17:13, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
