I have a question as it refers to Captain Pipe living in Orestes, Indiana. I live in a nearby area and have grown up listening to stories about him, all of which seems to lead back to Raymond Davis. Outside of his works, or those derived from them, I have not heard any other sources that back up his claims. The last correspondence I had with the author of the website listed in the references, neither had he. All the sources that Dave Dwiggins has found since points to Michigan and Ohio, not Orestes, Indiana. Orestes does sit five miles away from a Miami Reserve, and does have some history of other habitation. However, I cannot find anything that says it was actually Captain Pipe. Can someone else find something that I have missed? Archaeo12 (talk) 07:01, 8 July 2008 (UTC) |
