editShould the page's main diagram also include acid derivatives, such as acid chlorides? -216.145.255.2 18:27, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

editCarbonylation
editCarbonylation refers to reactions that introduce carbon monoxide into organic and inorganic substrates. Carbon monoxide is abundantly available and conveniently reactive, so it is widely used as a reactant in industrial chemistry. The term carbonylation also refers to oxidation of protein side chains. Link to metal carbonyl
editA previous version of this article had a hatnote link to metal carbonyl without further comment. Is this better than the current way, which explains the distinction between organic and inorganic definitions of carbonyl? Chutznik (talk) 00:51, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Link to inductor core materials
editJust a note/request (I haven't time today to edit an entry). I have been searching for details on iron core materials for inductors. Industrially, these are specified by names like "Carbonyl C" or "Carbonyl J". It would be nice to have a link to details about this naming scheme. They are chemicals, after all.
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified 2 external links on Carbonyl group. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20150824053622/http://media.rsc.org:80/Modern%20chemical%20techniques/MCT4%20UV%20and%20visible%20spec.pdf to http://media.rsc.org/Modern%20chemical%20techniques/MCT4%20UV%20and%20visible%20spec.pdf

Move discussion in progress
editThere is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Alpha-beta unsaturated carbonyl compounds which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 00:07, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

The image is exactly the same as the one describing a ketone
editFor the advanced chemistry user, this isn't a problem but for the new student who's trying to distinguish the sea of different terms in chemistry, having a Ketone (without any colors indicating to the carbonyl group), this is highly perplexing and there's no need for such ambiguity. Someone put an image with the Carbon, double bond and oxygen painted REDFightCensorship (talk) 12:57, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
