This was the best (least bad) source I'd found: http://www.lexikonettamanda.se/show.php?aid=14874 Doesn't add much. The spelling of the middle name might have been somewhat fluid and perhaps altered upon emigration. Haukur (talk) 23:30, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, there's a very good chance that it was just anglicized at some point along the way, but I didn't see any sources on that one. Whatever the case, it seems this is what he used at the end of his life, so I just went with it. :bloodofox: (talk) 01:14, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Augustus Mahnstrom

No Google hits and it looks a bit weird. Could it be August Malmström? Haukur (talk) 23:31, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

You're right. They have it just abbreviated as "Aug. Mahnstrom"[1] here. I think we can just assume it's August Malmström considering the date, location, and lack of Google hits. I'll change it. :bloodofox: (talk) 01:14, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

More von Saltzas

edit

All right, there was a Swedish-American artist named Philip von Saltza (1885 - 1980) and he was the grandfather of Chris von Saltza. I'm guessing Philip was the son of Carl Frederick. My Swedish biographical sources say that the von Saltza house is extinct in Sweden but survives in America. Haukur (talk) 22:44, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

As the name doesn't exactly seem to be common, I also came across this search result the other day and was wondering if there was some connection.. :bloodofox: (talk) 10:38, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
