Print Ad
editI found a German print ad for Parlophon. Just click on the adjacent link [1]. Should that be incorporated into the article? Steelbeard1 17:25, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
- Wow, that is a cool image!!!! I am not a lawyer and I get burned on fair use questions all the time. It's a print ad but presumably one that is old enough that maybe it's out of copyright? I'd say ask an admin that deals with these image types. Maybe User:gmaxwell, or User:Kelly Martin, or User:ta bu shi da yu ... or ask on Village pump (policy) ? Sorry, I just don't know. I would love to see it used though as it rocks (here AND in Parlophone! ) Let's keep this convo on one place, here seems good. ++Lar: t/c 18:05, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
- Advertisements are one of the items in the drop down list on the upload form aren't they? I wouldn't know if it's out of copyright though, not that I even know how old the advert is! --kingboyk 19:19, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
- 1927 according to that site. (It uses frames so is hard to link to... go here: http://www.grammophonclub.de/ then click on Galerie on the right, then click on Werbung under Geräte... it is link #2 under Schallplatten... here is a url of just that frame http://www.grammophonclub.de/galerie/werbung/w_tab.htm and here is the link#2 result http://www.grammophonclub.de/galerie/werbung/werpl_2.htm ) I say let's go for it. (so I did, I uploaded it and added it to the article. Great find!) ++Lar: t/c 22:43, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

editI'm sorry but what is the origin of this letter and in what way is it "Germanic"? --Chroniclev 06:33, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- See the articles Fraktur (typeface) and pound sign. Steelbeard1 07:04, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- So it's a fairly late German variation on roman script, I don't think that equates to Germanic, which would indicate something earlier. --Chroniclev 07:42, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps it should be "German" then. I'm assuming that "Germanic" has some more specific meaning? --kingboyk 07:59, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like a fairly non-controversial change, so I've changed the article. I haven't changed the front page version, pending feedback/advice. --kingboyk 08:02, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
