cause of death?

edit

i notice that for younger people, the cause of death is stated. but for older people, it is not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CFA8:46D0:E57C:491A:1AFE:3AF3 (talk) 03:16, 11 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I can't really believe this needs to be explained, but when younger people pass away, there's often a question of "why". Nobody's really clamoring to find out why an 86 year old passed away, and such a thing is often unreleased & unreported (assuming it even exists beyond "he was old"). In many cases, autopsies aren't performed on the elderly; we know that nobody lives forever, so, once you hit a certain age, it just happens (sometimes with no reason other than that). Investigations into the inevitable aren't seen as necessary, and those involved are generally satisfied with that level (or lack) of knowledge.

Being Wikipedia, if you can find an obituary that specifies it (I doubt you will), you're free to add it. If you can't (as I suspect), I don't know what you expect anyone else to do. If it's unreported (or even unknown), nobody has the power to add it. 24.14.224.157 (talk) 08:48, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Filmography

edit

Please do not add content to the infobox without sources that state specific things:

  1. The actual release date. Not just a year, as just a year next to a title does not state whether or not the film was released then.
  2. His actual credits. Several sources listed in a new edit just state that he worked on the film in one way or another, but don't state what he did, or how he was credited.

I know this is complicated, but if we are trying to have a detailed filmography of Rambaldi, we should not cut corners. Andrzejbanas (talk) 12:11, 25 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

    • Would it just be better to create a new, more simplified infobox entirely? Multiple sources list a full filmography but I'm not certain there's specific sources with both listed release date AND role in their entirety? I think a complete filmography is more preferable to an exhaustively detailed one, information on that front would be better suited to the biographical section of the article, in my opinion. As with older films, I do not really like citing other filmographies that do not give specifics. For example, the TV Guide listing states "Year" but doesn't indicate what that means. On trying to edit more obscure films (especially ones that seem to have been release direct to video in the 1980s), its very difficult to pin-point exactly a release date. I would be open to hear other suggestions on how to organize a filmography, but I think the way its stated currently is one I'm happy with as it gives users the details they want with specifics. Rambaldi, and other special effects artists have pretty complicated filmographies as they often wear many hats. Its good to keep that in mind and have that clear for readers.
