In Carmichael's 1913 paper in Ann. of Math., Carmichael studied general nondegenerate Lucas sequences and proved the characteristic divisor theorem for real cases, including Fibonacci and Pell numbers. Polgoe (talk) 04:48, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
