It appears both values are potentially correct, 1.64M SHU is an average value from the Winthrop University certification process, while 2.2M SHU is a value later reported by various media sources. There's likely variance from pepper to pepper, the higher value is the reported rating of a single pepper opposed to the lower rating from an average of tested peppers. 161.11.160.60 (talk) 19:55, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
