Changes to the opening lang.
editI took a fair amount of effort to make the opening language useful and targeted to a layperson.
The prior language was a direct copy from the cite. I'm not sure I'd call a delam a blister - an ICard would not use this language when explaining to a patient -

- Made changes to this article for clarity - removed/replaced the dated citations. Looped in cervical blood supply and clarified this is not unique to the carotid system. Defined the carotid blood vessels - strived to add clarity and ensure this is understandable to the average reader.
