Information about previous recordings
editThe text an editor added in the section "Background and composition" was redundant and poorly written. There is also no need to add who recorded the initial demo for the song since it's a very common practice in the industry and it doesn't mean that their versions were meant to be released. Besides, Ora's version isn't exactly the same, she added a bridge. --Helptottt (talk) 15:20, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- For example, Ora recorded Selena Gomez's "Wolves" and Justin Bieber's "Let Me Love You" demos before they released those songs, and that's not mentioned in their respective articles. Nor should it be. Because, again, it's a common practice. --Helptottt (talk) 15:28, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- Once again you remove information that is relevant to the background of the song and your opinion includes WP:SYNTHESIS. Nowhere in the source does it say the other versions of the song as demos; a demo is usually a reference track or when someone who wrote a song sings it as a guide for the final artist. That is different to when artists record a song and then decide not to release it and it gets sent on to others. The source mentions that other artists were considered and recorded versions of the song. This is IMO relevant information. You say poorly written but provide no evidence for that. Again you say redundant with no explanation as to why that's the case. As an experienced editor you should know better about WP:OTHERSTUFF isn't a valid argument for why something is or isn't correct. Many GA / FA articles which provide a good basis for standards do include information about other versions of a song. Furthermore, when you disagree with an edit but are reverted, you're not supposed to force your edit through again and discuss. You're supposed to discuss first before just removing the information. Until there's an agreement that information about the others who recorded the song before Rita did shouldn't be included, it shouldn't be removed just because you personally don't think its relevant. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 18:39, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
