Cars 3 (2017 film)Cars 3 – There are only 2 articles mentioned on the disambiguation page. With the upcoming Pixar film being the more notable one, and the other "Cars 3" article mentioned on top of it, there is no need for a separate disambiguation to exist. Pixar used Frostbite to render the trailer

In the article, it says that the trailer is using EA's Frostbite engine to render the teaser trailer that got released yesterday. So I did a little search on the matter and couldn't find anything. Where's the source to this? Jamie64326 (talk) 10:42, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

To add detail to describing the teaser for the film; how it's tone is darker than the previous entries of the franchise Poe Dameron1138 (talk) 01:44, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. -- Dane2007 talk 05:12, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Should something be added about him (Jackson Storm) in the summary? According to disney.wikia.com, Cruz Ramirez is the deuteragonist somehow, which means she is not as important as jackson storm? All the sources say something different about who is the protagonist and the antagonist, so maybe don't add anything, just a suggestion. Daisy134 (talk) 03:49, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Semi-protect the article due to vandalism?

I think it would be a good idea to protect/lock this page due to persistent vandalism, and I cannot keep reverting it as it would erupt into an edit war.

Genres like whoa

Can we drill down to the primary genres? Because "3D computer-animated sports comedy-drama film" is a mouthful. Computer animated comedy film? Those are what I'm seeing the most in the marketing press but I've only just begun looking. Millahnna (talk) 00:12, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

"Computer-animated comedy film" is fine with me. It's perfectly sufficient for the lead. --Fru1tbat (talk) 17:52, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

Is Sterling Silver name after Sterling Moss or the Sterling cars?

82.38.157.176 (talk) 17:34, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

Unknown, I guess. Could also be named after just sterling silver - doesn't really fit the marque, based on the character description, though... --Fru1tbat (talk) 12:37, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

The Dan Gerson edit war

SO I only just realized that the info about him was being added to the cast in the infobox (thanks to the uncredited role comments in edit summaries). I'd previously thought it was under the screenplay credits since that is what the source credits him with. My question though, is there any reason why that info shouldn't be placed in the writer's list in the infobox? I'm not sure how it ended up in cast; I'd swear I've reverted its removal under the writers list before. But I wanted to make sure since the content on this article (in general) has been awfully contentious for a family film that's not even out yet. Millahnna (talk) 23:41, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

It's best to see the credits at the end of the film and then edit it Jeffrey2768 (talk) 16:50, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

That does not answer the question at all. Millahnna (talk) 17:37, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

Plot

Could someone please significantly reduce the plot? It seems like virtually every detail of every scene was included in it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.199.25.222 (talk) 03:20, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Tom Magliozzi

How did he participate considering he dies 3 years previous?--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 03:35, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Voice recording for animated films often takes place years before release (before animation, which can take a long time). Right now, the article just says "production began in summer 2014" - this could probably be expanded, but either way, that would have allowed for Magliozzi to record his part. --Fru1tbat (talk) 13:53, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Add more critical responses/reviews

Felt like watching a propaganda film and not so entertaining. Add more reviews that explain the better angles of the film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.3.127.141 (talk) 13:41, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Ending

In the end when lightning swaps with Cruz would be this acutely be allowed? (In real life)82.38.157.176 (talk) 21:48, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

This actually happened in real life, a few times. Dale Jr. Went in Kyle Busch's car after Kyle left the racetrack in 2007. More recently, Denny Hamlin ran a few laps in Bristol in 2015, and then Erik Jones took over. 47.208.17.115 (talk) 00:16, 1 January 2018 (UTC)

Characters

Shouldn't the character Bobby Swift be added to the 'cast' section? He was voiced by Angel Oquendo. Reverham (talk) 23:41, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

Accolades

I recommend you WP:SPLITLIST and move the list of Accolades to the List_of_Pixar_awards_and_nominations_(feature_films) as Cars (film) has already done, and as I have already suggested Cars 2 should do. This page could still include a short prose overview, as the List_of_Pixar_awards_and_nominations_(feature_films)#Cars_3 does, explaining that this was the first Pixar film to not be Oscar nominated or win any major awards. -- 109.79.176.202 (talk) 22:02, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

'Acting' credits

Why is the section labeled just "Cast" when at the other two animated Cars films entries it's "Voice cast"?

Also, for nearly all animated films here at Wikipedia, the cast is listed as "Voice cast."

Just curious. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 04:44, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

Missing won award.

The movie won an award at the 2017 German Film- and Media Review (Deutsche Film- und Medienbewertung) as seen on IMDb but also on the official website : Here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miiverse (talkcontribs) 02:15, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

This is a necessary correction to the fifth paragraph under the Plot subheading:

At the race in Florida, <Sterling forces McQueen into retirement, but>delete this section <> as it's not accurate as it's dependent on McQueen losing the race> with Tex Dinoco and Smokey in the pits, McQueen wears the 51<please change '51' to '95 and'> manages to gradually push up the ranks. 2001:8003:E4E8:3F00:F1ED:4FFB:D4E3:E478 (talk) 12:08, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Firstly, I just had to try and parse the plot details from this article and the Pixar Fandom Wiki, and I severely need a drink. The plot write-up in our article is basically unreadable as it is, so I didn't bother changing the part about forcing anyone into retirement, but I did remove the number because the plot section is already rambling and overlong, so at least it's not the wrong number anymore.
