editI noticed that in the Wikipedia entry about me it was noted that no birth year was there. My birth year is 1953. I did not want to edit my entry myself, as that seemed faintly unseemly. But I am available to provide any other factual information the authors may require or desire. I can be reached most properly at advice@salon.com.
Actually, the reason I was looking at my entry, besides trying to impress my 13-year-old nephew, who now believes that I am famous, was that I would like to quote the entry on the back of my forthcoming book. I have looked at the citing section and believe I have cited it correctly, following Chicago style. I would also like to use the copyleft sign -- (we'll see how that works out). I believe I understand the rules and spirit of the open license, but want to make sure I don't screw up, especially since only the material quoted from wikipedia would fall under the open license, so if anyone can help clarify the implications, etc., I would appreciate it ... feel free to write to me, or, if I don't hear from anyone, i'll pursue other avenues of clarification, i.e., ahem, do the research myself.
cheers
