I would like to add a cite for a reference in this page. Can you tell me how to open the "reflist" for editing? Clicking on Edit above the references does not open the reflist for an addition. Thanks in advance from a Wikipedia newbie. Pabarge (talk) 16:10, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

OK, nevermind. Wikipedia Help eventually got me to the information. The trick is to note that references are embedded inline in the wikipage using the left-angle-bracket"ref"right-angle-bracket notation. The wikipedia processor finds these and displays them in the Notes section. To edit a ref you have to find the section in which the ref lives and open that section for editing. To add a new ref, open the appropriate section for editing and insert the ref inline.

origin of expression

In the 19th century, before cardboard boxes existed, many products were shipped in barrels, including crackers (the origin of the term "crackerbarrel"). In country stores and such, there were often empty barrels around, and they were sometimes used as counters, so that the barrelhead would be the informal countertop, where payment would be recieved.
